Bangladeshi travel startup Ovigo has raised BDT 1.2 crore in seed funding from angel investors to accelerate platform development and expand its nationwide network of travel partners.
Founded as Bangladesh’s first community-based tourism service provider, Ovigo works directly with rural communities, enabling them to host and serve travellers while generating sustainable local income. The company has built partnerships with community hosts, guides, and tour operators across the country to promote inclusive and responsible tourism.
The new investment will support Ovigo’s efforts to digitize Bangladesh’s tourism sector, empower local hosts and operators, and scale rural and leisure travel experiences with long-term economic and social impact. Funding will be used to strengthen Ovigo’s technology platform, improve traveler access to community-led experiences, and expand operational reach across key destinations.
“Something transformative is coming,” said Mahmudul Hasan, CEO and Co-Founder of Ovigo. “This seed round, backed by angel investors, allows us to move faster in digitizing Bangladesh’s tourism ecosystem. Our next phase is focused on creating measurable impact on rural livelihoods, contributing to economic growth, and making travel across the country more accessible and efficient.”
With tourism demand rising and digital adoption accelerating, Ovigo aims to position itself as a core infrastructure player in Bangladesh’s evolving travel economy.
