9 Indian nationals pushed into Bangladesh through Kurigram border

Nine Indian nationals were pushed into Bangladesh through the Dholuabari border in Kurigram’s Kedar Union under Nageshwari upazila by India’s Border Security Force (BSF).

The group—three men and six women—was forced across the barbed-wire fence late Tuesday night and later detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at several locations, including Golher Hat and Kochakata Bazar, while moving through Saheberkhas area at dawn.

One detainee, Shahar Ali of Bongaigaon district in Assam, said they were taken from a detention camp and pushed across the border at night.

Kurigram-22 BGB commander Lt Col Mohammad Mahbub-ul-Haq confirmed the incident, saying the individuals would be repatriated following due process.
