Former Dhaka North City Corporation ward councillor and Jubo League leader Taizul Islam Chowdhury Bappi ordered the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman bin Hadi, said Detective Branch (DB) chief Mohammad Shafiqul Islam on Tuesday, January 6.
He revealed the information at a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre this afternoon after investigators submitted the chargesheet in the murder case to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
Shafiqul said the chargesheet accusing 17 people was submitted to the court this morning.
Of them, 12 are currently behind bars while five, including prime accused shooter Faisal and motorcycle rider Alamgir, are on the run.
Efforts to arrest the fugitives are underway, he said.
