On the first day of the Bengali New Year 1433, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the Krishak Card programme in Tangail. The launch ceremony took place on Tuesday noon at Shaheed Maruf Stadium in the district’s Sadar upazila.
During the event, the Prime Minister formally handed over Krishak Cards to farmers, marking the beginning of a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting agricultural communities. The programme was introduced as part of the government’s broader commitment to empower farmers and strengthen rural development.
The timing of the launch on Pohela Boishakh carried symbolic significance, aligning the spirit of renewal and prosperity with the promise of greater opportunities for Bangladesh’s farming sector.
